GEM has become the exclusive distributor of all CCTV film and television product for North America, through its subsidiaries Cinevision International and China Media Ventures. The first release will be "The Forbidden City," a four-part documentary co-produced between CCTV and National Geographic shot in high definition and narrated in English. Discussions are also underway between GEM and CITVC (CCTV's international branch) in regards to doing co-productions in both the film and television arena.
